Scratch Radio

My time at Scratch Radio holds a special place in my heart, having been

the place that introduced me to the world of radio, and allowed me to

practice and learn how to be a media producer. I joined the station as

Deputy Head of Music, instantly assisting in the sound Scratch Radio

broadcast, soon moving into producing, and finally presenting.

After 6 months, I was elected at Head of Music, having overall control of

all scheduling, and station sound. I launched New Music Mondays, the

Study Sessions Playlist, Pre Party Playlist, as well as establishing the

Scratch Radio Music Team. I also ran all the music PR and interview

requests we were offered, as well as striking up a new relationship with

the Beggars group to become part of their mailing list. I would also contact

as many Managers and PR companies to organise interviews for members,

to they could interview their favourite artists, gaining experience and

having a laugh at the same time.

After 12 months, I became the Station Controller, over-seeing the day to day running of every aspect of the station, ensuring all roles were being completed to the standards I set my entire committee. During this time, I also acted as the stations Specialist Controller for 6 months, as our previously elected member could no longer commit to the station.

I hosted a range of shows on the station, starting off with daytime presenting to learn the craft, later leaning more towards specialist radio, most notably honing in on new music. I became a co-host on Chrissy Hall's new music show in mid 2015, later going on to host the Monday Unwind and Take A Note between September 2015 and May 2016. During this time, I also launched, co-hosted and co-produced The Music Review Show as Head of Music with my then Deputy Head of Music.

The last show I hosted on the station was The New Music Show, from September 2016 till March 2017, acting as the stations lead anchor of new music, kicking of New Music Mondays.

My time at Scratch Radio was amazing, and it will always hold a place in my heart as the beginning of my media career. Below is a link to my Mixcloud account, which features a large percentage of the shows I hosted on Scratch Radio.
